well I don't not have dash lights for my speedometer and clock and the rest. The only thing that works is my blinkers.
Wray, Jdw any wire wiz help me.

If nothing else besides your blinkers (headlights, brake lights, tails, ad nauseum) works, check fuses and work back. From a recent pic of your car, your rheostat was evidently bypassed/removed in favor of installing your choke cable.

Check your fuses...you've probably blown one or two.

Don't drive at night.

Fix your alternator, then find the problem with your lights, then fix the tach. In that order.

I had the same problem with my dash lights and it was caused by the instrument ground wire being unhooked. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif PJ

his alt'nater is fixed... this is the next step in the chain of things to fix /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

He even took Liz out for her first LBC experience ... or so the other thread says! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Like everyone else says... I'd start with the fuses. If it ain't the fuses, then I'd grab a wiring diagram for your car ( https://www.advanceautowire.com/ has a nice PDF for all MGBs; just print the one for your car), and trace the connections from the fuse box to your dash lights. A number of things can be bad from bad connections to just blown lights....

No dimer switch, But I twisted them all together now it works.

Well taped too? Don't want to find out you let the smoke out of the wiring harness two days into getting it back on the road.

Kinda makes ya wonder, dash lights and tac??

Yea electrical taped well

Tac now working as well? Bet it is a loose, unconnected wire as well.

Look to the "Voltage Stabiliser" on the wiring diagram and find it in the car. That can cause some problems with instruments. Be sure it's connected.
