Morris of West Valley Instruments, told me yesterday Feb 19 that Nisonger had permanently closed their service business and he'd bought all their parts, much of which had been underwater and was unusable.

He said Nisonger will continue to sell new instruments.

From Nisonger's web site:
During the early morning hours of Sept. 2nd our facility was buried under 6 +’ of water as Hurricane Ida passed through the New York area. A large portion of our repair parts inventory along with numerous pieces of Test Equipment were damaged or destroyed, thus we are no longer accepting Instruments/Gauges for repair or restoration.

Please note that our Sales Dept. was NOT affected and is continuing to accept, process and ship orders for the exciting new and rapidly expanding ā€œContinuation Rangeā€ of Vintage/Classic Smiths & British Jaeger Replacement Instruments/Gauges for E-Type Jaguars MGA’s & B’s and Triumph TR3’s ...

What a loss and how sad for Nisonger. I was going to use them to convert my original BN1 tach to electronic operation. Are there any pther ā€˜go to’ restorers/ conversion specialists?

I got a call from West Valley Instruments that my gauges for the 62 Rally project etc are all done and on the way back to me .
That will be an 8wk turnaround šŸ‘.
I always used Nisonger before .
Will post before and after pics once they get here .

I used North Hollywood Speedometer to convert my tach to read a square wave from my ignition. Works well, can't remember the turnaround time but that could have changed.

Got back from vacation and my instruments have returned from Nisonger .
Im happy , not overly restored . Basically given a good clean and polish etc .and the new cap line for the water temp .
Im not a fan of parts being overdone I like a bit of patina to match the period look of the car .
before and after pics attached

Nisonger or West Valley?
Oops , West Valley .jet lag brain .
Red lenses are there , must be the camera angle . I took a flashlight and put it behind them , definitely red lenses .

Yes. Gold-Faced instruments had red plastic inserts rather than the lenses as with the later series (BJ8s).

My mistake for calling them lenses. Yes they were little red plastic discs that fit in the black plastic bezels. Not sure if they were glued in but if so, the glue was not very effective. Most speedos and tachs you see these days don’t have them. There are probably somewhere in the bottom of the metal case. Mine were.
