He not gonna get his money back on that. But it is a nice car

None of us will, but our grand kids will make a profit...........

It is a beautiful car. Looks like a ton of money was spent, reads like a ton money was spent. For the price he will get, it will probably be a great deal for some one. I am not wild about the hood scoop though

Dave- Me either but it comes with the original double bubble too.

I would like to see the roll bar he has installed. I have designed one that I am having priced at a local race shop but it should look like a Z3. I have to finish ripping my interior out and seat (still looking to get them refinished). I really woudl hate to know how much I have spent on mine. I have the receipts but refuse to add them up

The guy, by his own admission, definitely got carried away. This really looks like a very nice one that someone's going to score on.

Looks good, he's right about the black...hides the humongous bumpers, the first 7/8 that I've liked the looks of.

Nice car, but hardly what I would call going overboard. Drop another 10K into the engine and you will begin to approach what most of the TR8's around here are like. But then again, Woody's shop is just down the road. The white one I just finished for a guy in RI has all of those goodies and alot more. Woody is building a red one for a guy from TX that will even surpass the white one I just built. You just wouldn't understand unless you've had a chance to drive one.

Well as of this post, he's at $6500, which is real TR8 Money. Will be interesting to see what his reserve is.

Sad, but true...

No telling how much he has in it. My guess would be several times that, counting time.

What's amazing to me is the effect that opinion has on the value of cars like these. Whoever has taken the time actually to drive one of these knows what I'm talking about; these cars are SO undervalued! My guess is that most naysayers have never set bottom in the driver's seat! And the "inherent problems" are so easily fixed!

Back when the TR7/8 came out, they were such a radical design departure from previous models. As a '3 driver, I had a hard time accepting them. The "Shape of Things to Come" indeed. I just didn't like the look of them. I have grown to rather like them, but I wonder how many others felt the way I did...and still do. Perhaps that's why they are undervalued today.

...And the TR3 was a "radical design departure" as well...

...as was the TR4...

...and the MGA...

...and the B...

Interesting, ain't it?

I have my eye on a TR7 with a Buick V6 right now as I sold the Mini. The owner also owns a TR8 and claims the bigger V6 will "blow the little V8 away". I am waiting for him to send me more pictures.

shoulda gone to Westwood Barrett/Jackson..need i say more. That would have been a striking site....The no reserve would have killed it.

$11,087 didn't hit reserve. Should of sold for that I think.

If it were summer time and the economy wasn't in the tank, this is the type of car that would have never hit the market. A phone call would have been made to Woody. Word would have been spread about the car being available, and by the end of the day a check for somewhere north of $15K would have changed hands. You have to remember that there is a line of people waiting to get their car into Woody's shop for just this kind of work. If you are looking for this kind of car, why spend $20K on parts and then pay someone to install them. The problem with getting all out performance from a TR8 is the balancing act. You can't build a big motor without spending a ton of money on brakes, suspension, rear end, etc. It adds up real fast- but not as fast as going out and buying a new car that will yield a similar driving experience! That is why there is usually a market for big dollar highly modified TR8s. Unless you have had the pleasure of driving such a car and also had the painful experience of dropping big money on a Vette, Viper, or 911, this will just seem like an over-priced TR7 to you. For those of us that have built similar cars, $11K would have been a real bargain.

SSHHHHH!!!! Don't TELL 'em how great these cars really are!

But you nailed it, Todd. That car is nuttin' but NICE! And Woody's having his hand in it made it even better.
