Nice Solid BugEye on eBay [not mine...]

I just came across a BugEye on eBay near Chicago that looks really solid... 61 Chicago BugEye on eBay

I haven't physically seen the car, but from the description & pics it looks like a good investment for someone.
Appears to be a really solid driver (esp for being near Chicago) that would just need a paint job to be a REALLY nice driver.

Currently at $7.3K (reserve met) & ending in less than a day...

Any guesses as to what the selling price will be??

I believe that's the same BE that was on Craigslist recently for $7500.00, guessing that may be the winning bid too.

The axle looks like it's hanging at an odd angle in one photo. What's that mean I wonder?

in which photo? rear axle?

In the photo the rear end assembly is definitely cocked to one side. The driver side hangs lower than the passenger side. Would an issue related to the springs cause that?

That's pretty common with Square Body's - I think they call it CDS - chubby driver syndrome.

Those seats make me think it was in Toronto a few years ago - Mark will come along shortly and tell us because I think he either owned it or looked at it.

Could be something amiss with one or more of the rear suspension components...
BugEye Rear Suspension

Shock, shock link, a worn bushing, loose component, etc.
Not unusual to have loose or aged components on a car of this vintage.

Unless it has a damaged spring body mount I'd guess it would be a reletively easy fix.

Nevermind. No longer for sale. Seller ended the auctin early.
