Hi, all -

As I find myself getting older, I'm thinking about transitioning out of motorcycles - well, to a degree - and going back to British sports cars. Long ago, I had a 1956 TR3 and a Spitfire IV. I still have rust particles in my ear from working under that one.. this time, I'll try to obtain one that someone else has restored and that I can faithfully maintain.

To that end I'm going on a couple thousand mile quest this weekend to drive a couple of Big Healeys and see if one speaks to me. Maybe I can make a deal and you'll never get rid of me.

In the meantime, I've read some good information here and appreciate the helpful attitude that seems to be present, as well as the tolerance for the different ways people want to enjoy these cars.

I grew up in California and saw them on the road every day. In the Midwest, it's a rare occurrence. So thanks to all of you for keeping these beauties running.

Dave

Welcome aboard Dave! Keep us posted on the Healeys! If you do get one, we have a very active and helpful Healey forum!

:savewave: Welcome and do keep us posted.

Just got back from my weekend journey - The first BN4 in Missouri was underwhelming visually and mechanically, an unhappy driver and made me question whether or not I ought to be looking at a Honda S2000 or something.

I drove another ten hours to see the second, also a '58 100-6, and I'm glad I did. It was well cared for over the last twenty years by the third owner, very tight (in a good way!) and awesome in motion.

I'll be driving it home to Michigan from Ohio in a week or two, so you'll be hearing more from me for sure..

Pics to follow in a few days in the AH forum.

Howdy Dave,

"CONGRATS" on your Healey find. Those are really cool looking cars.

Can`t wait to see some pics.

"Welcome" by the way!!
