The pictures flatter it a bit. It's in pretty decent shape cosmetically, and is structurally excellent. I just couldn't see installing it in my new, freshly restored toy because it would involve the (re)drilling of holes and general mucking about. I'd just like to see it go to a good home.

By the way, here is the car:

Shipping via Greyhound is inexpensive and easy for items like this if the seller will deliver to Greyhound.

Fred - welcome to the forum!

Are you in the MG car club locally?

I saw your pics, very sweet looking car!

Rick,

I'm not a member of the local MG Club, but am probably going to attend the north end meeting next Tuesday since it's only a couple of miles from where I live. Virtually pushing distance! The weather should be nice too.

Just to be clear, I didn't do the restoration. It was done by a fellow in Sequim who restores aircraft professionally. He did a great job on the MG. It was a lucky Craigslist find.

Oh, and the name Fred Applerot was stolen from a childhood role model, Jean Shepherd, a NYC radio personality.

My real name? I prefer to be a man of mystery...

Fred...

My wife Susan and I will be at the north end meeting Tuesday as well. It'll be nice to have another Midget in the midst. We are a little outnumbered in the North end. Ed Perez will be there also. We still don't have his '78 on the road yet but we're hoping for next week. If your Sunday morning is open the club is having a run out to the Sultan Bakery on Snohomish county back road. You should think about joining us. This one and the Pumpkin run next Saturday are about it until next season. Look me up at the meeting.

UPS Shipped one to me from California with a Shipping Label taped to it. Arrived in about a week. So wrap some brown paper around it. They won't hurt it any. Cost was not expensive I'm thinking $20-30 tops.

Also after seeing a Spridget T-Boned by a Buick that belonged to a friend of mine. I am a believer just to provide some protection so the car can be pushed sideways and not have the Buick go over the top.

The roll bar has been sold. It went to a fellow posessing a monumental project of a '76 Midget. He plans to stuff a small block Chevy into it...eventually. Heresy I know, but since it came sans drivetrain (and most everything else) the rebuild shouldn't offend too many purists.

And Rich, thanks for the invite. I'll see if I can do the Sultan tour. Sounds tasty!

.............so your buddy T-boned a Midget ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

That's what I read.

That's great!
Hey have fun on the bakery tour, sounds like some tasty driving!
We like the pumpkin run, and that's next weekend.
If the weather permits we may even take the Sprite!
Otherwise it will be the Midget - it has a top that will hold out rain.

No a really nice Midget with a 5 Speed and a built 1380 got T-Boned by a little od lady as she ran a stop sign. Midget was totaled, fortunately <25 mph, but Midget got pushed sideways rather than have the Buick climb over the top. Driver was able to climb out. Unfortunately I found out about a week to late to have my check in hand for the engine and tranny. It went into an Arley living someplace in MI last I heard.
