I do have the rubber on the bottom of the wings, ya just cant see it in tht pic.

It's generally hard to miss those 2 round thick rubber buffers. When my top is off, they hang down almost an inch below the chrome like this guy's do. Must be just the angle of your picture.

I must confess: I'm the lucky fellow who bought this beautiful top.

And I do feel lucky. The gentleman selling it sells classic cars
and has a nice showroom of cars. I gave him what he really wanted:
A reasonable offer; cash and a truck to remove it from his storage
area he was wanting to clear, right on the spot.

I think showing him pictures of my car rebuild (and just short of whimpering)
helped him to let it go to me.

For all who didn't get it, I'm sorry; but it had to be only one of us, right?
I was shocked to see this top was nearly right in my back yard. I travel
to that city three times a week or more for work.

It was a stretch, because I'm still fiddling with just getting the car
running; but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

I am very excited and will need to put in a liner and what else, I really
don't know.

Congrats on your purchace!

Im sure you will enjoy it..

Make sure there is no rust prior to painting it.

You may want to bring it to a Pro to have the headliner put in, Thats what I did & I'm happy I did.
My glass was in very good condition when I received it, but you can get that replaced if needed.

You can get the headliner kit thru TRF, they fit well
they also sell the Chrome and rubber you will need to complete the top.

Good luck , I would love to see pix in progress!

2wrench,
I'm pleased to see it go to someone on here, especially someone like you who is doing their own restoration. But you have to promise to post photos!

Dennis,

It went to the right guy!Was it a factory top?
If so,sounds like a deal.

Well, I think it is a factory top. Thought that is what I was buying.
I don't think the after-markets have those kinda "triangular" shaped
windows. The gentleman who sold it to me pointed out some writing
in the lower left portion of the rear glass. He says: "This is what you
look for." At that point he had already agreed to sell it to me and I
was dizzy with excitement and salivating and couldn't muster the composure
to ask intelligent questions. I just wanted to get it on the truck.

At some point, I'll take pics showing this area and somebody will
tell us more. For now, it sits in the corner of my livingroom and that
corner of glass is kinda behind the couch.

For those of you wondering if I put it in my bedroom so I could keep a better eye on it....no, I didn't; but, I thought about it.

Dennis,

If I brought a hartop into the house....
well, your Wife is more understanding than mine.
BTW - I've met her - Classy Lady!

- Doug

Thanks,Doug. Hardly know what to say other than I feel lucky to have
her....oh, and my wife's pretty nice too! LOL.

Got a few questions about this top: Do I need to remove my roll bar in
order to install the hard top?

Do I need to remove anything to do with the soft top in order to install
the hard top?

my hard top fits right over my roll bar & my soft top

ya only have to remove the piece of metal capping on the rear for the soft top snaps.

be very carful not to scratch your car when putting the hardtop on.

remember to line up the studs on the windshield prior to letting the top down on the back.
