Very impressive. It's quite tidy there isn't it? Back a few years ago I thought about finding someone with a ratted out Spridget and cutting the front frame rails off to make a test stand. Never got around to it. I'd like to start building up some engines just for the fun of it. Building an adjustable test stand would be a blast too.
 
There was a front end spridget test stand at the 50th at the lake. Worked very well. Wish I had room for one.
 
could you not make one out of 4" x 4"'s preferably hardwood. weld a larger flange for the engine and tranny - put the rad close and dismantle when you're done. I doubt there would be that much torque for a test bed.
 
Hmmm, I'll think on that for sure. Would certinaly help find my rear oil leak. Or at least prove that I got it fixed.
 
I've fired up many engines while still on the roll around stand... but this is tidier. Where does one keep it when not in use so as not to trip over it? My engine stand dismatles anf fits into it's original carton and is kept tucked out of the way til the next use!... very nice, indeed!

I would strongly recommend against this practice. I know it has been done but it does not make it right. The likelihood of getting injured by an engine running on a portable engine stand is too great.
 
I should think a properly built wooden stand. Bolts. U shaped up the sides of the engine with a wide base and a side support would do the trick. Going to think more on this so I can check for oil leaks while the engine is out.
