THE MAN!!!!

Setting the scene- 5 of us from the driving club go to Summit Point Raceway to watch the vintage racers. The track lets us go into the paddock and we park in a group.

About noon Nial wheels up on his pit-scooter and asks me,"would you all like to take a parade lap during the lunch break?" duhhhhh -make a few laps in our cars, let me think about that.

So, we followed Nial around for 3 laps and LOVED IT!! One of the Healey drivers had his wife video the last 2 laps. I am in the dark car right behind Nial enjoying his using the proper lines in his Honda.

Oh so true, Drew.

Dale:

Great video and glad you guys had fun. Your cars are super and really added to the event. We'll see if we can make that a regular thing if you come back.

The Cortina is an actual Lotus-Cortina but running a 1600 pushrod right now. The owner's son was driving it this weekend....very nice kid (maybe 20 or so) and good driver.

Don: the guy standing by the fence by himself in your picture is me.

Took this on Saturday.

Who drove the Cortina?
We all know each other in the Cortina community.

Doug:

The Cortina is driven by Michael Clifford's son (who's name is also Michael, I think). They run a shop called "Michael's Vintage Racing" (no website) which specializes in Elvas. They do some work on Michael Oritt's two Elvas.

There is also a Mk II Cortina that I have seen running here in the last few years ago (I forget the owner's name)

And there's a third Cortina I know of: a Mk II that runs eastern hillclimbs (this I've rented for racing, but it was sold to a new owner a few years ago).
