While my last installment was about construction tools (well, destruction tools, really), this one's back to cars.

So, my next "onshore" tool purchase needs to be..., drum-roll please,... a new torque wrench.

I have a project near the top of my honey-do list that requires specified torque. And while I have a good 1/2" wrench for lug nuts and such, this next project is lower torque, well below its 20%-100% accuracy range.

The torques are about 11 and 14 ft-lbs, which are even below many 3/8" wrenches ranges. So it's going to be a lower torque 3/8" or the upper end on a 1/4" wrench. Basically, I need a wrench with no more than 50 ft-lbs full scale.

I'm open to any suggestions, preferences, cautionary tales, etc.

Here are a few candidates:

from our shores:

modern, techie, easy to use but very pricey and you have to feed it.

fast, easy to use, especially when you have to do multiples at the same value.

deep down inside I'm an analog guy. this one's a bit fussier to use but a joy for a precise, visual, hands-on sort of person.

And, from "onshores" far away:

from the good people who brought you precisely installed fasteners for your Merlins:
