News out of Germany - Porsche/VW

Hmmmm Both cars originally designed by the same person... It's taken quite some time for them to reunite. Seems like a good move for both companies.

Interesting-- I've had two porsche's that shared a lot of VW-- 356 B and 914. Maybe they'll make a sports car for the masses again? They said the Boxter would be the entry porsche but it's still too steep for most of us!

Time to bring back the 914? It wasn't a bad car, in fact I remember thinking it was cool when it came out.

Yeah, the 914 handled like a champ but the transmission was balky/cranky and it rusted terribly. With the 2 liter it made decent power but just a tad more would make them a real blast. Being a contortionist would help in working on that mid engine position.

Not suprising at all really.

I could have had a 914 for free a few years back. Woman I worked with had the car in college back in the 80's, now she was older, kids, minivan, the usual. Anyway, she was looking for a good home for it. I went and checked it out, the entire center section of the car was basically gone, rusted away to nothing. Shame, they look like fun cars.
