Hi all, I'm new here, but not to British cars. My first was a 61 Bugeye Sprite, on which I learned to tune Skinner-Union carbs. Stolen out of my driveway, it was replaced by a Mark 2 Sprite, then by a 65 TR4A, then a 65 TR4 which was my daily driver for four years - many years ago. I had a mint TR250 for a few years, on which I learned how to make tiger stripe hoses (use high temp yellow tape) and then over the course of seven years I built a very early 1962 TR4 into a show car, and won the VTR and TRA concours in the TR4 class. Then I got into serious track driving, but that's another story.

However ---- I've never owned an MGB, and that's my next step, and why I joined the BCF. I'm currently trying figure out whether I can live with the rubber bumpers on a Series 4 I intend to buy. We shall see. Maybe I can parallel park behind an SUV with the top down, and not worry about it like I did with my concours TR4. If I close the deal on this car, my first step will be double Skinner-Unions, and yes, I've read the thread on it here. They'll fit, but it's tight, and HIFs are preferred over HS4s.

welcome, whereabouts in town are you? I am in Etobicoke. I must say that converting a rubber bumper B to chrome bumpers is actually pretty easy. A little more difficult but visually quite effective is a sebring conversion.

welcome!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

The MG section is the place to ask about rubber bumper conversion.

The Pub is a section where almost anything comes up for discussion.
