Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello since signing up 10 minutes ago. Wanted an MG since I can remember, and got my 1977 Midget in 2000. Excepting minor repairs, it's been fully functional, though it only comes out when it's nice out. Like what I've seen in the Forum so far, and looking forward to participating.

Welcome, mark. I'm a newbie myself, who has also wanted an MG for as long as I can remember. Just got a 76 B. Needs some body work, but then again, so do I! I love everything I've seen here thus far - sure you will too.

Welcome Mark This is a great site to belong to. You will not find a better group of people and with so much knowledge. Welcome Regards John. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Morning all! dropped back into BCF to look up something from one of my older posts- realized that I joined 20 years ago this year! Still have the MG Midget, but it has spent some time in storage in the past 25+years- Of late, it has been in my garage waiting on completion of the interior- I had started it a few years ago and then life came along....
In the past 25 years I have
-changed residence 5 times
-changed jobs 7 times
-got divorced
-got re-married

-The Midget has been as much of a constant in my life as anything!

Currently finishing the open-ended projects as I prep to move the car to a new home (still mine, just different location)

Hope all is well with everyone here, and I will try to post some progress/completion pics when I can!

Welome Mark, good to have you! PJ

DBL post, sorry.

Hello car fans, owned my Bugeye for 49 years and rebuilt the motor in the late 80s unfortunately something major broke and I had it towed home. I have a 71 Spitfire that was taken apart about 15 years ago. still have all the parts (in several locations around the house that I need to sell)the question I have is how hard would it be to put the 1298 engine from the spitfire into the Bugeye? I have also been considering putting in a different transmission seeing as how the smooth case original trans needs parts that I can't seem to find. Constructive comments and warnings would be appreciated.

To all of you with Midgets posting here in the MG forum, you'll get more responses in the Spridget forum, which covers Sprites and Midgets.
