Newbie saying hello....

Hello my name is Mark and I live in North Lincolnshire U.K......
I've recently come into possession of my fourth classic and I've got to say, I'm really enjoying it (despite the rotten English weather...)
She's a 1970 Mk11 Triumph Vitesse Convertible in British Racing Green and very original she is too, having covered only 12700 miles in the last forty years.
She was owned by just two previous owners, both neighbours on the Isle of Wight (off the south coast of England) and was only used on special occasions. I spent a fair bit of time last week flushing the cooling system and setting up the twin carbs and now she really performs like new.
Next week sees replacement brake and fuel lines (to be on the safe side) and I'm treating her to a new Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel....
Previous cars were a '65 Rover P5 Mk11 3 Litre followed by a '72 P5b then, fancying something older, I found a '51 Riley RMA.
I'll post some pics soon, when I next get the opportunity for a run out but certainly on 'Drive It Day' (which is on the 25th of April this year....) - speaking of which is there a similar event organised in the U.S ?

1970 Mk11 Triumph Vitesse Convertible.... wow... great car.
We do need pics... and I think I have just adopted the 25th
as "Drive it Day' also...
Good to have you aboard!!!!

I drove an MGB to work on "Drive It" day a few years ago, and it got wrecked! Got out and walked away from it at least.

Welcome to the forum Mark, I love the Vitesse.... I'm a fellow Brit (from the Midlands) transplanted over here.

Howdy Mark,

"Welcome" to the BCF.

In the event you don`t understand the "Pre-requisits" to becoming a member here; We need, want to see pics of your "Vitesse"!!

Just kidding of course but as you can see; We "LOVE" pics here!

Regards, Russ

Welcome Mark! As said before, how about some pics! We love to look at pics of cars. PJ

I'll start with a pic of the Riley and (hopefully) a link to a few others....including my wifes E28 BMW (and friend) my Alpina B10 V8 (pictured with another that had previously belonged to the founder of Alpina, Burkhard Bovensiepen)....The Morgan is one that we hired to tour Dartmoor for a weekend last December which was a (icy) blast....

Welcome Mark, from a fellow but expatriate Brit.
Great pictures - loved those Rileys. What a shame they got subsumed by the mighty BMC and became just badges.
Just think, with a stretch you could say your car had a similar engine to an ERA!
