MGB-GT Newbie researching MGB GTs

I have grandkids and two GT's - one MGB one MGC. The kids cannot reasonably or safely fit in either.

Until recently I also had a Jaguar XJS. The back seat, though small, would hold a child booster seat. If you must transport the kids, I would recommend the 1994-1995 V12 or 1994-96 AJ16 versions as my first choice in either coupe or convertible model.

I had a friend near Kansas City contact me today. He has his immaculate MG1100 for sale.

MG 1100 has more room than most people think. Here's an ad from MG when they were new. PJ

the 1100 is good because you can tune it up with midget parts.
I also like the Stag and the herald idea. rear leg room is a at a premium in the jag xjs.
what I recomed to people who are not looking for embracing the addiction, is a VW bug convertible good parts availability, reliable and had a proper back seat.
a late sixtys jag could work a S type or 420 while not as pretty as the MK two, they are under valued and have great performance and not only leg room out back but tray tables.

if your not sure your ready for britsh car owner ship do this test. next rainy day drive with the windows open. stall out the engine at every intersection. and toss a 20 dollar bill out the window at each traffic light. if you find this fun, welcome to the fraternity.

As young as your kids are, using car seats you'll need to make sure whatever is chosen has the fittings to allow the seats to be fastened to the back area. Besides shear size most British sports cars of that 80s and before like the B aren't going to have that.

B/GTs had captive nuts ready to accept/anchor rear seat belts
