Just bought my wife a '77 MG Midget Special Edition. Haven't even picked it up yet.

Looked up a few parts that I need, quickly realized that I do not know what I have.

Is there somewhere I can look to find out what things like which "MK" I have and what it means and what is "Special" about a Special Edition.

I am clueless. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I tried to do a search here already.

Thanks in advance.

Fear not! The best approach for parts is to order a catalog from Moss Motors and Victoria British, also perhaps Motorhead. All of these are on the internet. The special thing is mostly marketing. The Mk numbers do have some meaning, but not all the time. If you really get into it then there are books of the history of Midgets that give a lot of the production detail. Critical to ordering parts tho' is the engine and body numbers - which the catalogs give the locations for.

Have fun, as we all do.
