Hi all. My name is Tim. At the moment, I own a 1966 Triumph Spitfire. I purchased it a couple of years ago, the previous owner had done most of the underside and suspension work but the paint was rough. Last year I stripped it down to bare metal, applied epoxy primer, color and clear coats. Its not perfect, but its nice.
I became interested in the Spitfires when I was about 14 years old and lived in Sheffield, England (moved to the States in 2001), my sisters boyfriend had a red one and I loved it.
I also have a 1969 VW Beetle and a 1969 VW Karmann Ghia which Im part way through fully restoring. I restore the VW, Porsche, Mercedes Solex carburetors for a living, this keeps me very busy!
Thanks for letting me join the group.

Welcom aboard. Nice pictures.

Hi Tim,
Beautiful Spitfire, I love that green paint, my 52 MG is also green, I have a 71 and a 72 beetle, also fun little car's.
Your paint job look's very nice to me. I'll bet you win many awards with your spitfire.

Tim - welcome to BCF. Good looking Spitfire you have there.

Does your VW or KG have a semi-automatic transmission (Saxomat or Auto-stick)?

Tom M.

Thanks for the comments. The color is the original color for the car, Conifer green.

Nutmeg, no neither have the autostick transmission. I did have one for a short while a few years ago
