On the pads, I think they make them. Check with The Roadster Factory (www.the-roadster-factory.com). They are located not too far from you and have sales on Green Stuff fairly frequently.
 
Welcome to the board Robyn, good to see another New Jersian around here. I see you are in Plainsboro, my wife lived there for three years after college, nice area. We live about 30 minutes north of you in Hillsborough.

If you're looking for a club and whatnot Nial has already pointed you in the right direction with several good links. The NJTA holds their monthly meetings in Gillette, which for you might be a bit of a cruise to get to from your area, I'd say at least an hour. Haven't been going to many of those myself in about a year now. They do several nice events throughout the year, one of them is very close to you at the Triumph brew pub in downtown Princeton. They also do several tech sessions a year at various shops around the state. One is usually in our area at Dons Jaguar Service in Flemington.

Oh, love your Volvo by the way, beautiful looking car. Friend of mines neighbor has one just like it in black, just gorgeous. The Spits a real nice looking car as well, good luck with them.
 
I'm quite familiar with Hillsborough. I worked at the brick office building on Raider Blvd & 206 (in front of the movie theater). Robyn worked there as well for a short time. And one of our Volvo friends lives near there as well. He has a red '72 1800E. We may know the guy with the black 1800 as well. I currently work in Somerset but drive through Hillsborough every day.

We should be able to attend a local event or two.
 
Wow, thats funny, small world isn't it? Where are you working in Somerset? My first job out of school was at a lab in Somerset, on Cottontail Lane. I know exactly where the building you described is, I used to live right down the road from there in the Claremont Towers apartments before I got married, where it changes from Raider Blvd to Auten Road. Not the nicest place the towers but it was cheap.

Another good event is the Moss Motors fallfest at the Moss warehouse in Dover, usually in early September. Nice show, lots of Triumphs and MG's, some AH's, some Jags, a little of everything. Best part is you can buy stuff from the Moss catalog at the show for 15% off, good time to stock up on parts. Another nice show is Red Mill in Clinton, right off route 78. I can't remember when it usually is off the top of my head but if you search on the web for it you'll probably find a date. I went to that show last year and had a nice time.

Don't tell me you fight the traffic all the way up route 206 every day do you?

Good to hear about some local events. Unfortunately June 4th is probably out for us. I'm hosting a rally for my MINI club on the 3rd and probably won't be home until later on the 4th. Too bad. I've never really been to Clinton and always heard it was nice.

I know Positve Earth does a nice show over in Lakewood sometime over the summer. We ventured over there in the Volvo last year to spectate. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
I currently (like right now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ) work at the od Verizon building off Davidson Ave, right next to 287. I don't really drive on 206 much. I get on at 601 and turn off two lights later onto Hillsborough Rd, then cut up WIllow to 514 and take that out to Elizabeth. Normally, my commute takes a little over an hour, gettign to work between 6-7am. Today I left really late, but amazingly the drive only took a bit longer.

Another British car show I've seen was at the Morovian Tiles Works in Doylestown PA. I was last there many years ago ('97), but last I heard it was still going.

It's not a true "rally", I guess. No time/speed/distance or any of that kind of stuff. Just a bunch of MINIs out enjoying a day of motoring on some nice twisties in northeastern PA. Lunch is a BBQ at my parent's farm then we motor on to end in Jim Thorpe, PA, a quaint little old coal town that has been reborn as a tourist destination. And some of us will finish the day at a drive-in movie theater about a half hour from Jim Thorpe. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
I may be in NJ at that time and would like to join if at all possible. Not sure I will be quite that early but no date set yet.

I suppose this thread should be under Mini.

Thats good, your familiar with the backroads. No reason to be on 206 any longer than whats absolutely neccessary. I've lived in Hillsborough almost 15 years now and that road just keeps getting worse and worse. Funny though again, you're on some of the same roads as me while commuting. I work in New Brunswick, I either take 514 straight through into downtown New Brunswick (where it changes to Hamilton) or, if weather permits, Blackwells Mills road to Skillmans Lane through the back of Franklin to Route 1. I know exactly where that verizon building on Davidson is.

Doylestown isn't far at all, I go to the air show at Willow Grove NAS every few years so I know the way there pretty well. Gonna have to watch out for that show you've mentioned.
