NEWB! 1st TIME MG OWNER HERE

"should i b proud of that" well not proud really, just happy. Orginals never were, thay are all after market. You can get them today but think $400 or there abouts.

The stock finger catchers that have the spokes at 90,180,270 are a dime a dozen. The ones that have the spokes at 60,180, 220 are a little harder to find.

---***UPDATE***---

been kinda slow on messing with it as my supra just blew the headgasket and i am building a motor for the turbo civic.

BUT, i have had a hunch on the mg... some to find out it was true

the car when i bought it, i didnt get to hear it run.

got it home and threw a battery in it and.... imagine that it started. easy. but would die a second or 2 later...

come to find out, in the 12years it has been sitting... some animal stored NUTS in the muffler. no exhuast was escaping. i pulled the exhuast loose from the manifold, and the car runs beautifully. lil smoke on start up.. imagine that.. the valve seals dried up after 12yrs... hmm LOL

i am going to be ordering a choke and throttle cable alone with new master cylinders soon. i want to drive it BAD.

just wanted to update everyone /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif i am very happy

Wow, and it started right up. Wonderful, tough little critters to last as long as they have with as little love as most have gotten.

Excellent. Just so you know, You can replicate at least the throttle cable from a local bicycle store. They can cut a cable to size. Must have been nice to hear it run. You'll be driving it soon!

^ thats a great idea!

(and the previous owner said he had pumped the tank, so the fuel was only like 6months old. but he said it wouldnt stay running... ) i know someone was thinking, there is no way 12yr old gas will run :p i know i would, as 5yr gas just about wont burn with a match...
