9:40pm CST, 30 Dec 2009.....a little over 24 hours & '09 is history!

I'm not gonna get out on the streets tomorrow after 6pm!

Me and You!

...my wife's birthday is today...hmmmm...

I'll be doin' my traditional New Year's Eve: Hidin' under th' bed with th' cats.

About the same with me. Seems like I usually miss it some how. Funny thing is, as much of a big deal people make out of it - nothing really changes. Heck, half the time I forget what day it is anyway and I'll be thinking "09" until about April.

I'm installing new faucets in the bathroom! Since we bought this house, our master bathroom has had two sinks with non-matching faucets! (Suspect PO had a problem with one and could not find exact match to fix). So starting in 2010, the Basil family will finally have matching faucets! Life is good!

Some people just want an excuse to get drunk.

I'm waiting until the snow plow comes around.
We have a few inches (but at least it's not too cold.....31 degrees F right now)

Just drove the MGB around the driveway.....Wheeee! Slip-n-Slide!

We're going to a party tonight (fortunately, nearby)

First time in a long time that I'll be home for New Year's Eve. For musicians, this is a working night (and usually a high paying one) but nothing came up this year. I'm not sad about it this year, as it gives me a 4-day weekend with nothing planned but maybe a bit of snowshoeing. A rest I could really use.

We'll probably celebrate on East Coast time (2 hours ahead of us) and be in bed by 10 pm local time. Big time party folks, that's us.

Gotta go to some artist party thing for the wife. We NEVER go anywhere on NYE. He dad never let her go neither as "drunks is out". I have to agree and always liked that policy. Iff'un y'all don't heer back frum me tumara, I reckon I'ma gon'ner.

Took the B for a trip today. Made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and peas for dinner. David and I will have a couple of drinks, watch T.V., play on the computer and go to bed. We figure we have done enough New Year's Eve celebrations in our youth to hold us til we die. Now it belongs to the amateurs.
Be sure and open the cupboards and windows to usher out those bad spirits of 2009...2010 here we come.

Back from the Mexican restaurant & settled in for the evening.

Watching Tennessee/Va Tech. Looks like Tech's gonna draw first blood...

Yep.

I suppose. I just started drinking for the night. I'm on my second "Mug" Rootbeer.

It's nice to know that I'm not alone in that department. :jester:
I think we should start a club and call it, "Lost" and sometimes "Found"! :winner1:

Well, its over & I made it to another year.....back to normal now.

Too bad poor 'ol Dick Clark forgot how to count backwards... Oh well, I bet he's just happy to be alive to enjoy another NYE.
Anyhow, Happy New Year!
HOping to get dug out financially and physically this year.
Being an auto technician,I got a jump on the 2010 thing. We've been writing dates into 2010 on oil change reminder stickers for the last couple of months. That helps every year.
OOH.. monday I get to see what the new state inspection sticker color is. Last year was Grey.... (little things.. ya know)

Think I'll say "20-10"...seems to roll off the tongue easier.

You are among the 29% who prefer it said that way (CNN poll).
