How is everybody? my stepfather has had his 67 MGB sitting in the driveway for as long as i can remember. he had it running a couple years ago, and i asked him what was wrong with it. the only thing that is wrong is it needs new air filters, new battery, and some minor touchups. when i went to start to fix it, i found that the lever to pop the hood wont even budge. i put WD-40 on it and it still wont budge. what can i do to pop open the hood on this? thanks,
jp

I'm reasonably sure the release is the same on the late 60s cars as the early 70s...

If you work UP from under the car, directly in front of the radiator you should see the hood release cable and latch. There might be a mud-shield in the way made of cardboard (a lot of cars "lost" this item and they were left off or replaced with plastic ones) that you'll have to move away somehow. If you can reach up and push the release cable/lever over you'll be able to pop the the hood open.

By the way, you might want to change the oil then pull the plugs and pull the engine through by hand a few times before trying to run it if it hasn't even been started for that long. You might want to squirt some Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder (in the spark-plug holes) before you pull it through too to make sure everything is well lubed.
