New wheel cylinders...

I need to get new front wheel cylinders for my Bugeye... I've decided that the planned "front end rebuild with the change over to disks" is not possible just now... Had to pay income taxes and buy a new water heater for the house...

There seems to be three choices for wheel cylinders - V.B. has one choice, and Moss has two choices ("Lockheed type" and "aftermarket")...

Originality is not important to me, so the question is does anyone have an opinion on where to buy?

As always - Thanks.

Drum brakes on the front. Do you guys realize that the bugeye had the original "anti lock brakes" I have used the aftermarket ones one the rear of my midgets and other than the cheaper cost and the smaller wrench needed for the bleeder, I can't tell any difference.

I thought the originals had twin-leading shoes? The MK1 Minis had single-leading shoes and THOSE were the first anti-lock brakes. All it took was one frightening stop to get me to at least convert that 1962 Mini to twin-leading shoes... which really work quite nicely.

Whitephrog you have a pm. I think I'm doing this the right way...

Coulda saved all that money. Don't pay your taxes and you'll be in more hot water than you can handle. :jester:

Well I haven't actually cut the check for either... Maybe I do have $$$ for a total front end rebuild.... Then again the first cold shower because of no hot water would waken me to the reality of that decision (along with the fact that my wife would not be very happy w/o hot water)...
