New VTO wheels ?? Tire Size for TR3

It was suggested that I post this in the Racing forum as well:

I am new to the forum. Question about my recently acquired '60 TR3A. I have a new set of VTO Classic 8's, 15x6, +24 offset (as recommended by VTO). Have not put them on yet (long story). Tires will need replacing. I am considering 185x65x15 vs a 195x65x15.
FYI, might do some autocross in the future. Anyone with experience with this combination of wheels/tires, or suggestions? Appreciate the input.

Contact Hap, he handles the VTO line of wheels and knows race tires.

I`m surprised Hap has`nt chimed in here yet!

He must have taken the last yr. off!!

I`m sure he`ll be around shortly.

PS: Al, Did you get a hold of him yet?

Yes, odd, really no responses, with the post in both places on BCF.
Will give it a little more time...carbs are in mid rebuild right now anyway, waiting for back-ordered throttle shaft. So, no rush.
Thanks Russ.

PS: like the E-Type comment...have always liked that roadster, and the Healey 3000, but apparently others do as well, driving the prices sky high for a decent specimen.
Am quite happy with the TR6, and now a TR3A, but if I win the lottery...

Hi There Al,

Yeah; "When I hit the Lottery" as well; I can forsee a "Series I E-Type Rdstr" back in my life but until that time ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

By the way; I saw "Hap" yesterday & mentioned your post here & on the Triumph Forum. I`m sure he`ll be along shortly.

Regards, Russ
