Alright, the last time we talked about this it went on for several pages, now they are here and crickets are chirping, LOL. I did sell a several sets of the new sizes today and someone already has bragging rights for having the first set of Retro 4s for a MG Midget. If you're on the fecne the free shipping is nice discount. I'm getting a set of black Retro 4s for the Midget race car.

I'll have a set of 5 1/2 wide 14s RETRO IV. for a Square Body Spridget. ... check your PMs

Do the stock center MG thingies work with these wheels?
How about the lug nuts? The wife's B has some fancy lug nuts with MG on 'em I'd like to keep.
I know...I know.. it's a Spridget forum but this is where I hang out.
I like the Retros but she likes the 8 spokers. How wide were the stock B rims?
Will 14x 5.5s work on her B?
I like the dark centers. She likes the silver centers.
It her car so....Classic 8s with the silver centers.
Please hang on to a set for me.
I'll try and swing by Acme Speed shortly.

Your timing is bad. I just got finished paying the bills. It will have to wait until I feel rich again.

I had to inform Bill of this just now, and wanted to go ahead and put it out there for you all, the new 14x5.5 was designed to have greater offset to give more rear fender clearence to the MGB, which is the main reason we even made the 14x5.5 to begin with. The new offset does not work with the Midget, so we did not order the 14x5.5 in the 4x4" bolt pattern, because we know it would not work with the Spridgets. Making a 14x5.5 for the Midget with the right offset would mean designing a new wheel from stratch, and that a decision that would have to made by the big boss, and nothing that includes any future plans right now. I didn't know this until the last minute. When we all talked about this in the past it was green light, but when the offset was determined for the MGB, it simply did not work for the Spridget. When we design a new wheel, as for offset and size, it about $6-8K in design and prototype cost then a minumum of 100 units run in one color, one style one offset and size, for example that would a minimum of 400 wheels to get both the Retro 4 and Classic 8 in 14x5.5 in both color and $12-16K in design and prototype cost. Who knows it could be done in future, but it's a risky move for the owner financially.

We have the 13x5.5 in both the Retro 4 and Clasic 8 in both black and silver for the Spridgets ready to ship.

David, you probably can keep your fancy lug nuts, as long as they are not really clunky, if 3/4"s or smaller probably so, if they are 7/8" probably not.

Yes the 14x5.5 were designed speciaficlly for the MGBs, MGB is our biggest market by leaps and bounds, so it's our bread and butter to make sure we have wheels for that market.

This is good time to buy because of the free shipping deal, but I totally understand if folks are strapped now

Great Hap! I'll drop by the shop one day next week and pick
'em up. They are sure going to snazzy up her B.
Her car is so nice and those stock wheels painted black in the center just detract from an otherwise great look.
Even the new trim rings I put on them just ain't cutting it.

Yep, that is a nice B, you did good, and have even done the car better since you got it. Must been good ole fellow that found that car for you

Here's a stupid question.......what size tire are you guys using with the 13"x5.5" wheel? I would love to have a set of black classic 8's for my Bugeye, but money is too scarce right now. Anyway, just trying to figure out the appropriate tire size.

The most popular size tire for the round rear arch cars, like your Bugeye is 185/70/13, and for the square arch wheel cars 175/70/13.

OH guys, thank for your orders.

Guys thanks for the orders, just a reminder, this is the last week for the free shipping deal.

I put the wheels on the car and my son and my pal in Seattle both used the word TRANSFORMATIVE. These things are freaking gorgeous.

Yep, I want a picture too , send me a normal sized (not downsized) file and I can get it up on the website.

And they look like this on..

I was curious my self to know which was level, the building or the car?

Nice wheels though!

Re: New VTO wheels here and ready for shipment !!!

Here's another... I have a black grill and the black center wheels really bring everything together. In the winter I'll have on a black hard top too. Should be simply striking.

The other picture was taken on a rather steep hill in downtown Seattle. It makes the car look like it's going fast even when standing still... In the new photo you can see the reflections of other cars at the Bellevue ABFM, where there were nearly 20 Spridgets in attendance.
