Hello all you fellow British car.....people.
I am in this introductory section to introduce myself. I have been registered as a member forever however long that is, I think perhaps 2011? But I have never posted so, here I am posting.
I did need a bit of encouragement from Basil I admit. I also admit to having forgotten about this web forum entirely, so forgive me!
I am the current president of the Ontario Jaguar club, I am on every Jaguar website out there as "JustV12" so you know who I am if you have been around.
My wife is the secretary of the Jaguar club and is equally enthusiastic about collecting cars as I am. We have actually had discussions about which cars to buy, rather than the usual wife saying "WHAT? Another car?" She has cars in her blood by now through no conceivable path I can find but she loves vintage Brit cars. When a car comes up for sale it is SHE who gets excited and stresses on where to take the money from, which cars to juggle and where to park them.
When we were dating only three months, one very cold Saturday night in November found us in my garage under an XJ 12. This is when she first found herself getting familiar with the bigness of the underside of a Jaguar V12 engine. Yes I said "bigness", and I made that word up but you can use it.
To date we have had several cars sold on but to date we have a list of cars that goes like this:
1989 XJ S convertible
1989 XJ 12 VDP
1962 MK 10 (Preservation class winner) (Also our wedding car)
1949 Daimler Barker DB18 SS.
We have recently paired down our collection due to Garage issues, (major reconstruction) this will be finished in 2015. At that point I expect our dam will burst and we will go a bit crazy.
That said, I am going to peruse the forum and see wot's wot.
