TR4/4A New valve gears/timing

On a side note if you still have the cover off you may want to check to see if the chain tensioner has been wearing a hole in the cover. This is what I found when I took my cover off.

David - In fact the cover had been previously damaged and the PO has brazed repairs on it. It was missing the pedestal also although he had used a threaded rod as a substitute. I think it is time to torque things down and install cover and move on to the next rebuilding step. I will probably be back on here with questions soon. Bruce
