New trunk lid want to put on chrome 3 pt MG emblem

I have a replacement trunk lid, it came from a 79 Midget.

It has the three holes for the one piece MG emblem.
I want to install the 3 piece chrome emblem.
I also want to put on the chrome Midget emblem below that, but I don't know how far below the octagon or above the trunk latch that would go.

It has three holes (about 3/16") for the emblem that would need to be filled then I'd need to drill holes for the chrome pieces.

How would I go about filling those old holes prior to sanding & painting?

Does the chrome 3 part emblem go right where the one part emblem is now?

How about some ZAP Sheet Metal screws from the back side to fill up the hole. Use a cutoff wheel and grind them flush.
Possible finish with spot well but ought to be able to get by withoutthem. A little glazing putty and voila and invisible repair.

What's ZAP screw? What's it look like?

Just a flat head self tapping sheet metal screw?
That would make sense. Then grind off the top side and glaze over, sand smooth & paint. Sounds easy-peasey.

You got it, fasten from behind and grind flat. Unless you stand on your head and fet into the trunk tht way uyou'll never see them.
