just wanted to say Hi. I'm new to the forum and to British sports cars. I have spent most of my life with Alfa Romeos. I had a chance not to long ago to get the car of my dreams. I found an original 1962 TR-4 all numbers match with documented 24000 miles. It is being put back together and I hope to have in on the road by the end of the summer. I'm In east Tennessee and I hope to get some good driving in before the winter. here is a photo [img:center]https://

Very nice, and welcome! After driving through your area recently with my TR4, I can say you have a great place to enjoy that car!

If that is the tub as you found it then it would indeed appear to be well-bought and should be a joy to work on.

Keep pictures coming as you progress.
 
That looks like the beginning of something fantastic. Congratulations. "The Graduate" made Alphas a thing of greatness, but you apparently knew all along what you really wanted.

Good luck, and, yes, folks here can bring you all the way to a fine restoration.

If only we could do body work! A few here can . . .
 
hi Glad to here from you. Are you going to the British car show in Townsend the weekend??

Anyway The restoration on the car body was started poorly I might add so I'm having to take it apart and start over.

The thing I like about this car is I can fit in it. I'm 6'5" tall and every time I got in and out of my spider my wife would play circus music. The tr4 has a lot more room.

It looks like a very solid car to start with. You may be able to have it done by winter, but don't rush it. Welcome to the forum.

You posted the extra pictures just as I posted. That must be an early car with the long bubble, and I also like the cars with the painted dashes.
 
I thought the early cars had the short bubble (power bulge).
 
They did -- up to CT6429 according to one source. I think that would have the short bubble production ending in the first half of 1962.
 
Welcome! This is a great forum and it's always good to see another TR4 owner here.

That looks like a great car to start with and yes, us tall guys do fit well in them. :smile:
