well; I finally bit the bullet after years of Alfa Romeo ownership and purchased a 1962 TR4. I have wanted one most of my life and was able to find a good garage find. I'm looking forward to Forum with it's vast knowledge to glean from. From the east TN region.

Welcome to the asylum! Misery loves company. Glad to have you!

As a first bit of advice, I'd suggest you get a copy of the owner's manual. It has lots of information on periodic maintenance and such; and tends to be more accurate than a Haynes manual or whatever. Reprints are available from various sources, or originals show up occasionally on flea-bay.

thanks. The car is being put back together slowly. I hope to be driving my the end on summer. plus British cars can't be any worse than Italian cars.

Welcome to the Forum, and good luck with your TR4! :savewave:

Welcome, and congratulations on your find! British cars are less finnicky than the Italians, the TRs especially. They are rugged little beasts and once you get them running right they usually stay that way.

Hi There slong,

"Welcome" to "THEE" best LBC Forum anywhere. I`d have to guess you already found that.

I`ve owned 5 different Alfas in the past & currently own a real sweet `73 Spider.

What kind of Alfa did you own?

Best Wishes with the TR4. I`ve had a couple of them as well.

well an update the car is in primer now. after some investigation the guy I purchased the car from didn't remove any rust just welded panels over it and plenty of bondo. So almost every panel had work done on it so now the car is rust free. Engine is being rebuilt now car should be painted in a couple weeks.

Sounds like you're well on your way to a proper restoration!

 from Clarksville.
