Just saying hi at the door before I walk in.

Picked up a '59 TR3A at auction a couple months back and restoring it is well underway. Been lurking..time to join.

Hi Bill, welcome. A lot of us have TR3 specific knowledge as well as parts. A TR3 is fun to own and drive and can be completely reliable . Hope you have a good time with it ! Kevin

I'm not sure what's happening, Bill, but the photos didn't come through for me. Everything looks right, the links you used will display directly for me, but the BCF page just displays them as little red X.

You might try using PhotoBucket instead of triumphexperience.com.
 
They worked when I first linked them...sorry about that.

Oh well. I've quit having any pics hosted elsewhere since most forums now support direct pic uploads. I used Supermotors to host them once upon a time before that was the case...

I'll get off my lazy butt and start hosting pics somewhere that this forum can link.

Spent the last two days carefully extricating the two rear wings from the body. What an adventure. The right side had never been apart, apparently. That was bad enough. The left side was hit 'lightly' right on the rear corner and had been crumpled up some; whatever hack bassturd put it back together again simply took a used wing and with a combination of welding (bad welding) and bondo..made it 'fit'.

The left wing is toast..but the body not so bad at all. In fact, to repair the crunched area of the body around the tailight properly would have been cake then and fortunately still is now.
 
YOu can attach pictures to a post - use the "File Manager" link that is below the edit window when you make a post. If the file is less than 150k it will show up in the post as a picture, otherwise it will appear as a clickable link.
 
ah ha..I see that now. I was looking for something 'larger'..;-)

Here's a test; as a more pleasant diversion from the he!! that is the body work on this thing, I've been celaning up and assmembling the dash board...

oops..nope..file was 106KB and limit is apparently 100kb...according to the alert I got.

I'll get this licked sooner or later..LOL

Greetings, Larry. New Market, eh?...originally from Lisbon, myself; just a tad bit east of you. But I've been down here in southern Md for almost 30 years.
 
Hi Bill- dash looks like you will be able to reclaim it with some ease. I am reminded, looking at it, of how many design features Daimler "borrowed" from Triumph when they did the SP250. I've been to P Point a few times to visit the DNR facility there that used to be the eel farm. The non-profit I am with tried to help DNR get an oyster hatchery going...water quality and other problems doomed it. Nice part of the state to be in.

You would have certainly met my good friend Gene then; he worked there for a long time.

Some other local pilot projects are producing some nice oysters no; using a difference apprach/technique involving large metal 'basket cages'..
