Howdy Folks,

I`m typ. on the Triumph Forum but I have recently bought a real sweet `73 Alfa Romeo Spider. Delv. is scheduled for 5-16.

I don`t recall where the "VIN Tag" is mounted on these cars; Engine Bay, Door Jamb, Where??

Thanx, Russ

Russ - congrats on the new "mechanical engineering education tool".

You need to join the Alfa bulletin boards - a great source for Alfistas.

Example: here's a production list:

Nice looking car!

Congrats Russ!

My podiatrist has been wanting one of those for quite a while.

Last time I saw him he told me, "I've finally done it! I bought an ALFA Spider!"

His Spider is a 1991.
His wife was fully in favor of it but she cannot drive a stick-shift, so he bought an automatic Spider.
He really wanted a 5-speed but I told him not to worry and enjoy the car. If Mama's happy, you'll be happy!

Very nice. I've had my eyes on Alfas for some time, but I'm in one-car-at-a-time mode here so that will wait for another day. Enjoy!

'73... SPICA injected 2L. They feel like a big car, drive like a sportscar.

The injection pump relied on tetraethyl lead as lubricant. Add an ounce of MM oil to every tankful of fuel.

That's of course unless the PO was wise and set it up on 40 DCOE's.

Hi Russ
I have a few Alfas in my past.....the VIN is located on the upper part of the firewall and may also be on the corner of the dashpad by the windshield too. I have two squaretail spider parts cars (cheap) if you need a parts source and live in the middle of our great state! Have fun, Eric

Howdy Folks,

"Thanx" for the nice compliments. I`ve owned (2-`69 Duettos, 1-(?yr) Milano, 1-`65 Giulia & 1-`76 spider) in the past.

This `73 Spider sort of reminds of the `69 Duettos I owned.

My car has a "Mirror" Rosa Red finish with Black Int. Real Panasports with wide Yokohama Tires & Dual Webers. She runs like a raped ape & really looks "Show Quality".

"ERIC": I will be needing a "Clutch Slave Cyl. Hose". What do you have that is in "Like New or even better, New" cond?

Thanx, Russ

Just go to the nearest big trucks hydraulics shop and have 'em make it! Last one I replaced (about a year ago) cost me $10 and a fifteen minute wait.

Take the old one with ya. They can match the fittings.

Howdy Eric,

I`m looking for the "Oil Pan Guard" that would fit my `73 Spider 2000. What do you have?

Thanx, Russ

Hi There Anglia,

I`m going to try this but I don`t like shrinking my saved pics cause I can`t seem to ever get them back to Orig. size.

If a pic of my `73 Spider does`nt show here; Send my your email address & I`d be happy to forward yourself some pics.

Regards, Russ

PS: Nope; Its not working.

hey Russ... copy/save the photo as a different filename THEN resize the copy. *hint-hint*

Hi Doc,

What size in "PIXELS" do I need to re-size & post here?

Thanx, Russ

Hi Folks,

I have`nt been here in awhile but I`m going to try and post a pic of my `73 Alfa Spider.

I`ve had her now for about 2 months & enjoying every minute of her. Recent work done was having the "Inside" of the Hood & Trunk Lid repainted. Looks Great. She runs excellent etc etc.

Here we go.

Regards, Russ

PS: Well; Its here! Small but here!

Thanx Steve,

She actually looks better in real life. There`s a switch! Heck, I finally even changed my avatar.

See Y`All Later,

Russ

Howdy Folks,

"M`Xmas" to All.

I`ve been trying to Log into the site for awhile with new passwords etc; Un-Successfully. Finally; I`m "Good to Go".

Regards, Russ

Very nice, Russ!

Happy New Year Steve,

I simply wanted to see what size pic came up when you clicked on the attachment in my previous post.

I tried it & I get a little "X" box in the upper RH corner; I click on it & Nothing? I right clicked on my mouse & "Show Picture" comes up but no pic? What the heck am I doing wrong? Whats the pic look like; "Small or large"?

Regards, Russ

it would prob show if it was a jpeg as opposed to a gif
