LCD trouble light - been carrying the raincheck around since december, finally got it. cordless, and when compressed is a flashlight. I don't think it casts quite as much light as my trouble light, but at the rate I break bulbs and for $10. I'm happy

Clever. They don't throw out as much light as a fluorescent one but enuff to work with in a pinch. 'specially along-side a dark road... :shocked:
 
I have a Snap-On unit. Thought that it was over priced, and as Doc's said they do not usually throw of lite...well mine is great. Stays cool, bulb will not break when dropped and will stand up on a flat surface...even holds a charge for near a week. I take it when traveling.

I've started using the LED lights that strap onto your forehead instead. Dang trouble light is always pointing in the wrong place (usually into my eyes) anyway. Wally mart has a couple of styles that seem to work well, for around $20-$30.
 
I'll have to check with my Snappy guy. Tried a few of the 'other' ones and they work okay but I'm gettin' older and I like the fluorescent ones Snap-On sold. My original one has been thoroughly abused, been thru a couple bulb replacements but now the "wall wart" transformer has decided to stop working.
 
Very Cool

I use one of those compact fluorescent lights in my trouble light. Never gets hot and bulbs seem to last a lot longer.

everything in its place doc - don't have any plans to get rid of any other lights. come to think of it, I don't have plans to get rid of any tools - ALWAYS a mistake. :cheers:

Just yesterday used Granfar's adjustable ream set to do the kingpin bushes on Her B. Third generation and still goin' strong. Wooden box set, "Cleveland Tool". :wink:

Harbor Freight has those forehead mounted LED lights for about 4 bucks.
 
OK. I didn't actually look at HF offering. Got mine at Big Lots, 9 led w/3 settings plus flash on/off. $5 ISTR.
