My Mgs have a new stable mate. I finally picked up my 88 XJ6. It was a fourteen hour round trip drive, dollied it back behind the trusty Chevy p/u. I was shocked to actually see how nice it is...way better than advertised. Interior is prfect other than a split in the flip up armrest. Glass is perfect, one minor door ding and a small dent under the right rear bumper horn where a tire seperated ansd flew up. Wheel well was untouched so I figure two hours to repair and paint the ding. Paintwork has a few minor chips and a couple of light scratchses..all in all very nice. Checked the fluids, dropped a new battery in and after about eighteen months of sitting idle it fired right up!! My wife was more shocked than I was. So far everything works...

Congrats, Jack!

...now I s'pose you'll be hangin' out with all th' 'snooty-people' and forget all about us, huh? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Oh me now he has a Jag, what do you supose is next?

An old Rollie!

Nope...have actually found two MGAs not too far from me...one is a total resto(not an option) the other has all the mechanicals done...engine, trans, wheels etc. and all the body work is complete. Done by a shop that specializes in English cars. That one needs paint and interior. all new bumpers, grille, interior kit..all that needs to be bought is a top cover and paint materials. Since I recently sold one of my 911s, and have an offer on my second one...I hope to soon own an A.

mehheh. A whole lot better'n an old Rolls, fer sure! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I know....took a few after I washed it up a bit...then left the camera on the counter at the shop. may take the wife out for ice cream later and go by and pick it up...then I'll post a few.

You'll love it - I know I'm falling in love with the '86 Vaden Plas I recently bought.
