new tonneau - what are these??

OK, so I got myself a tonneau bar, and tried out the bar with my new tonneau.

if I unzip one side, and fold it behind the seats, and over the bar, there's not enough slack in the tonneau for the snap to reach the post, and it isn't even close, maybe 3 inches away. if I put the tonneau under the bar it obviously can reach the snap posts.

so is the bar only used when the tonneau is fully installed? for support?

or am I doing something wrong?

Yes- you are doing something wrong!!
You are trying to fasten it before the summer sun warms the vinyl to allow it to stretch!
(I think that I am kidding- but then, maybe not!)

I thought about waiting til summer, but it's a good 3 inches short of reaching the post, and when I go under the tonneau rail, it seems to fit perfectly, nice and snug

is anything easy?

Post some pics for us, Joe! Sounds like a problem somewhere, either the wrong bar or cover, something mounted wacky, or the posts are in an odd place. We'll figure it out...
