Wow,..yours will be done before you know it! Surely ready for the spring! And with all that work, the Mrs. had better let you enjoy it too!

My schedule has the bodywork and interior done for Christmas,..then, hopefully, right into the garage for the engine re-build, transmission swap, suspension and brakes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Looking good, Jerry - the Autumn Leaf interior will set it off nicely.

That blue color reminds me of the Chevy blue in the mid-sixties - I think they called it "Marina Blue" - very popular on the SS-396's and Corvairs.

I've promised the wife she'd have hers on the road by late spring. Hopefully there will be some warm days when I can get busy on it between now and then. Thinking of making a trip to New Orleans when we finish it; have to get our "fix" on Cajun and Creole food...

After finishing the interior of my Midget, my mind is now straying in the direction of a possible paint-job.

So the updates may pop up at odd times,..but I'll do them!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the paint with a little more coverage and a second and clear coat. It's actually a little more blue than the picture shows.

I'm re-assembling the windshield, and getting ready to start installing all of the chrome.

Got all your great pix up until the paint job, then just got x's in boxes. Sounds like you will really have a winner there! Makes me a bit envious as my '78 (also an E-bayer)is just a fun-to-drive car. I have had to do a lot of work on the body but nothing like you have. The only rust to speak of is behind the left front fender and I will probably have the lower part of the panel replaced "some day". A proper paint job will have to wait also. See my attachment for some of my "before" pix.

My "project" turned into a monster, that at a certain point there was no turning back from. LOL

I feel your pain. I actually flew out to look at my car before buying it. The salesman saw me shaking and sweating like I was having crack withdraw. Every time the showroom door shut I jumped a foot off the ground as if someone else was going to rush in and buy it out from under me. Needless to say I got the "sorry I can't go any lower than what it says" After I got it home I found out it was broken in half. ( and that was the good news ) I am financially ruined and couldn't be happier. (p.s. The Elva is not for sale at ANY price)
 
Hi all!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I just got back from the shop, my car is starting to look like a car again!

I'm very happy with the paint color, The Astral Blue Metallic, is even nicer than the Riviera Blue I'd picked originally!

I've updated my site with the pics, and gave a page menu (so you don't have to go through the whole site, everytime /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Newest updates are pages 10 and 11

Fortunately, my brother is also caught up in this insanity. No one else in the family had any idea what a late MGA / early MGB 23 spline first motion shaft was or why someone could become excited about getting " A metal stick with teeth on it ". I heard myself referring to a TVR LSD (Sprite) as " About the size and shape of a small acorn squash " when I was describing his top Santa list item to family members before X-mass. And yes... We "passed the stocking cap" and chipped in enough to take care of this go-faster-goodie. Although they were suspicious about where their money went when I presented the item for their inspection before it was wrapped.
