New to forum/new to bug eye/new to vintage racing

Just a quick hello as I'm new to the forum and new to my 58 bugeye. Purchased it July 5 from the Baltimore area, did some quick wrenching and took it to Beaver Run for the July VRG race weekend. Found a few gremlins, a great guy (David Smith) with a BugEye volunteered his wrenching skills at his home in Carlisle, Pa so it was dropped at his place on Sunday, picked up the following Thursday and towed to Pittsburgh for the PVGP. What a blast.
My bug eye supposedly has been a race car since new, previous owner is Udo Horn and car was raced by his daughter. Car ran/runs #948 (same as engine size) and is painted black.

:savewave: Hi Jeff, and welcome to the Forum! Sounds like you're jumping in with both feet!!

Welcome aboard! You've found the right place - this has to be the most spridget-savvy group in the world.

Your car sounds great. Any pics?

Jeff, amybe you can make it down to Roebling Road near Savannah for the VDCA event in december, we have a big oyster roast, and good racing down that way, you ran with some of the VDCA guys up at Beaver Creek.

Though he will be too modest to say it, Hap is the man on racing prep and maintenance...

Hi Jeff! Welcome!
We ran in the same event.

I was also at the '09 VRG/BeaveRun races with my #909 Spridget.
At least two others guys from this forum were there as well. Michael O. (racing a white Elva) and Dave (who actually owns an Elva, but was flagging)

Sorry to hear you had some gremlins, but glad you were able to get things sorted so that you could get back and run the PVGP street races.

I would have run the city event too, but my Spridget isn't old enough. I am building a '58 Austin A-35 vintage racer, so I should be able to run the 2010 Sheneley Park event.

If you were on-track during any of the sessions, I may have caught you on video. And I have about 250 still pictures that I took.

After a quick look, I did find one shot of your car (below). There may be others.

Not sure if you have any plans for the rest of the season: VRG has an event in mid-Sept at NJMP and mid-October at The Glen. I'll be at both. They also have "The Turkey Bowl" at Summit Point on Thanksgiving weekend.....that's one I can't make.
