Just had a new Triumph owner come into the store (buying parts for one of those American cars) and he just purchased two (2) Spitfires, A parts car and .....probably another parts car. He will be contacting this loose group for advise. May God have mercy on his soul.

I am enjoying the fact that spit guys are banding together and becoming a force on the board... When do we revolt and have a total take over?
 
We just need to share more with each other on the site and tell everyone why they need a spitfire, gt6 or herald in their garage.

I agree. I have 1 of each in my driveway or garage. We need to save the Heralds of this world. There are many out there needing to be saved.

Andy is the biggest saver of Heralds. We need to help him out more.

If you like to get attention at car shows drive a Herald. I have had the GT6 and Herald at the same show and everyone wants to talk to me about the Herald and they seem to pass by the GT6.

This year I am going to have 1 of each at the shows and see what happens.

That's so true, but for me it goes much further, as in "If you like to get attention, drive a Herald"! For whatever reason, I seem to get almost universally positive reaction to my white sedan, whether it's at a car show, driving down the highway, in a parking lot or anywhere else!
 
The daily driver in question is a 1965, don't know what the parts car is.

Do you know why you get some much attention going down the highway?

It is because everyone has to pass the slow moving car in the right lane doing, if lucky, 55mph.

In a parking lot is because it left a big oil stain or white cloud of smoke.

Someone in CA needs to jump on that Herald. Not very many of those around.

Tom, I have to admit that I've become pretty much a "speed limit" driver in my advanced years (57 this coming July). But I've no problem maintaining a legal limit in the Herald, at least up to the 65 mph limit on some rural-area interstates in my area.

I was going to say in my earlier post that the only drivers who seem not to have positive reactions to the Herald on the highway are those who are in far too much of a hurry to bother with piddling details like speed limits, weather conditions, paying attention to driving, etc.! But as a former trained and licensed driving instructor and one who got both my children through the NYS driver's license road test on their first try and, apparently, made them pretty safe drivers (so far), I'm no longer bothered by distracted or otherwise moronic driving...other than to allow them plenty of space wherever possible!

Oh, and my Herald seldom leaves it mark on pavement or in the atmosphere (so far...knock on wood [dash])! :smile:
 
Andy, can you say that about the other 10 you have sitting around the barn and yard.

I hope to someday drive at 65 on the highway when I get rid of the 4.8 diff I have in Herald and put in a 4.11.

All I can really say is Heralds rule and everyone should have one.

Be careful what you say around here. We might have to banish you guys to the "Spridget" forum where all the LHPTBC's hang out...that's Low Horse Power Tiny British Cars... :jester:
 
I got my cars out of storage this year and a mechanic friend of mine can never believe that they always start right up. He stores a couple of his kids newer cars in the same place and they take for ever to start after sitting for a couple months. Mine crank for about 20-30 seconds and once the gas fills the bowls again they start.

Isn't life grand. I to love the Herald because I always get there, maybe not fast but I get there.
