So I was getting tired of the poor choices available in the 13" diameter range of tires for my TR8. It was time to go to a larger wheel. I spent quite a bit of time going over the different ways to go about it. Part of that equation was ease of replacement, of not just the wheels but the tires too. Since I use my TR8 as a daily driver any unecessary downtime needs to be minimized. I thought about the staying with 15's but finally decided on 16" wheels. The ease of availability/replacement also meant changing the bolt pattern to a more common one. Adding the thickness of the adapters to the original offset of the hub meant that the new wheels would have to have a fairly large offset. The new wheels are 16"x7" with a 42mm offset. The tires are 205/45R16 and are only .31% off of the original rolling diameter of the 185/70's. The previous 205/60R13's were 2.25% different.
