So I finally broke down and purchased new tires for my TR6!!!

I got Goodyear Eagels 205/65/15

oh my GAWD what a difference from my original Michelin Redlines!!!!

No more sqeal around corners
No more spinning wheels
No more bouncing around

Now I know what all the talk is about having Modern tires on a LBC

Its like driving a different car

((I LOVE MY CAR AGAIN))) :p :p

I seem to remember seeing those tires a while back.

I'm glad you switched to the new tires. The red lines are great for originality and on a spare set of wheels for a show, but the ride and handling of the new tires is much better.

How wide are your rims?

You been parking on the street?
That looks like a meter maid chalk line.

Much less oversteer!

there like riding on a cloud
I'm acually going faster at lower RPM's due to less drag.
I thought because they are wider and more surface contact that they would hum.
but their acually much quitier than the old redlines'

the only problem is now I can hear all the other rattles' :driving:

btw: the chalk on the tyres is from the tire shop
Ill clean them up this weekend....

[How wide are your rims?]

not sure the dimension of the rims, they are the (Dayton 72 spoke chomes 15")

Those tires look real great and now that I have seen them, I will give a great deal of consideration to this line when the time comes.

The question I have, are any of you out there running 205/70's all around or just in the rear? The reason I ask, of course, has to do with the tires diameter. Compared to the originals, the 205/70 is 1.2% smaller vs. the 65 which is 4.5%. The smaller tire will respond better around town, but not as well on the highway. Just curious.

Nice tires Bill, the new ones make quite the difference.
If you sell the redlines make sure you cover yourself
legally that you are selling "show tires" that are quite
old and NOT safe for daily use at highway speeds.

Mine were about 1982 vintage and I trashed them.
I could feel the plys mushing around corners.

Paul is quite correct that your redlines should go on spare
wheels. You need to make that clear if you sell them.

best regards,

dale

We live in a far too litigious society. As Dale said, cover thy butt!!

"are any of you out there running 205/70's all around or just in the rear?"

I have 4) P215/65 R15 on mine.

With the steering wheel turned the whole way, in reverse, I get a little rub. I also have the rear camber nearer to 0, with the adjustable brackets.

New tires make such a huge difference -and they might stick a little on wet roads.

Mr. Kodanja!

I am happy you shed your fine auto of those ancient
redline "gonna pop" tires. Deb's happy as well.

Also glad the "nightmare on Elmstreet" tire guy
is history. What a brainless wonder.

Now enjoy driving.

Ray, I had 4 Goodyear 205/70/15's on mine before I got the 16" Konigs and they were great around town and on the highway. Still in the basement on the original wheels.
