Well, I wanted to get those pretty wheels recently posted here that were on Craigslist, but as the old saying goes, "you snooze...you lose!! " They would have been nice! the consolation prize...I got somewhat similar ones off ebay and at a similar cost! I think OBI is going to love them!

Pics when you get them please!

Sorry you missed those CL rims Mike, but glad you found another set!!

This economy is such that right now there are some folks trying to liquidate and others just waiting for the deals. Strange.

Deals, we want deals.

Pix when I get them! Nice four-spoke mags, similar to the Craigslist ones, but where the spokes "bulge", these are just flat and tapered! Should look nice!

Sounds like Revolutions, do they look like this?

Very similar, but the spokes are not rounded but flat. The sides of the spokes are painted black but the surface is bare alloy!

We definitely want pictures, sounds like a wheel for a Spridget I don't have in my photo files and should add. Glad you found some you like.

Luke, American did have some problems with breakage under sever use. Check inside the spokes, if there is a center rib cast into each spoke then you have the updated wheels and they should be fine for autocross or race use. The early wheels have an open backed spoke without any reinforcing rib. They are ok for street use and autocross with street tires. Slicks or sticky special autocross tires may impart too high a side loading on them though.

I think that hens have more teeth than there are sets of 4" pattern Americans still out there. You're lucky to have those. I found a set of 7" wide ones for my Midget and found to my surprise that 3 of them are the later type and one is the early type. I run the early type wheel in the rear, figure there are slightly less cornering loads there than on the front with the steering and my new Yokahamas which are pretty sticky.

Luke, nice looking Midget. Well done.

How frustrating :wall: !!! The seller of the wheels I purchased had the wrong email address for remitting the payment to!! Now we are going back and forth to get this straightened out before he can even ship the rims to me! Three times I have tried to pay for them with no luck! :cryin:

Wow! It seems like AGES ago I started this topic (over two weeks!!). Well I finally got all the problems resolved with the seller and today the rims arrived! They are all I had hoped for (except that one of them is missing the center cap...hopefully the seller still has it and will send it or I will have to get creative). I am not positive, but after seeing them here in front of me I think they may be LeGrands. Does anybody else out there recognize them? They are marked on the back with Made in England and are 5 1/2" x 13".
I can't wait to get them on the bugeye, I think they are going to look really nice!!
