I know I've put more into my '69 Sprite than it's probably worth, but to me, that's part of the hobby. I bought this car as something fun to do, not as an investment. If I get my money out of it when I decide to part with it, so be it. If not, I can live with that, too.

I recently mentioned to my wife that I was thinking about selling my TR3. She said 'fine, as long as you get another project car'. Unlike many hobbies, at least ALL the money you put in is not gone from day one.

As alluded to by an above poster this could have worked out for someone with a crashed or seriously rusted later model Spridgit with decent mechanics . I was spooked by the rust in the undercarriage with negligible welding skills and no trailer to take it to a repair shop and no vehicle to tow a trailer even if I had one this project became a non-starter.
