TR6 New project -73 TR6

I used to post here a few years ago when I was working on a 73 TR6. The frame and the tub were lost when the shop I had them at went out of business.

Since I still have a complete car, just not a rolling frame and tub, I tracked down a new project.

This weekend I picked up very original 73 TR6 that isn't in too bad of shape.

wow what a great scam, open up a shop, take in a bunch of high end cars, go out of business and then keep all the cars!

I cant believe you lost your parts just because a shop goes out of business!

What was the old handle?

The old handle was Jackag91.


Basically, I did a cash deal on some body work and storage. I left town for a few months. I got back and the place was completely shut down and empty. A lawyer told me that since my deal was under the table (no record) and the body/frame didn't have an identifying marks (VIN, CC) it was gone in the wind.

I found some old pictures from my first project and thought I would share. My hope is to get to this spot on this car in the next few weeks (Late August) Mostly depends on how many "Man I forgot to order that" moments I have.

Pulling the body off

some of the rust on the frame. If you look closely between the frame and the Trailing Arm mounts you might notice the pieces of 1/8 inch angle iron holding the frame together.

New frame sections in place

frame cleaned up, painted, diff mounts boxed, and ready to put together

Everything back together with rebuilt front and rear suspensions and a diffy with new oil seals.
