Well I finally sprayed color and clear today. I will have to sand and buff. The color went on great but I did get a few runs in the clear. Just got the tape off and took a few pics.

Very nice! I like the color.

Runs are easy to take care of if you are careful wet sanding. I recently did a respray on the rear quarters of one of our cars. I had some 2500 grit paper that did an excellent job of removing a curtain. After buffing and some glazing compound it looked great.

Do post more pictures as you progress.

Nothing like a "square" Spridget in British Racing Green!

Don't wait too long to sand and buff ... that urethane clear gets hard. If it says sand and buff after 5 days (not sure what the recommended time is), then get busy on day six. Speaking from a bad experience that left me without fingerprints. :(

Hi Trevor, it said I could start after 24 hours but I will have to wait until Monday. Getting ready to lead a group from Madison and Milwaukee on our annual Fall Tour starting Friday morning through Sunday. It shouldn't be to bad by then. Just from cleaning some mixing equipment it doesn't seem too hard for several days after. I will be at it as soon as possible though, really anxious to get it done and start putting it back together.

I waited about 6 weeks and it was much more difficult than when I only waited a few days.

I can see how that would be a problem. I had to sand off the first color coat and that was an arm builder. I had a person who shall remain nameless help with the final prep and she didn't understand the why. The result was many fish-eyes. Didn't have any this time. After 45 years I have learned to not mention certain things. :peaceful:
