I finally bought (just today) an MGB. What's the preferred products for cleaning and waxing the exterior, tops, interior, tires, etc? ANY advice will be greatly appreciated! I intend to keep my husband busy this week shining this baby up!

Thanks much!

If you want a good, easy to use wax that will make your car glow like a...a...glowy thing, I recommend McGuires NXT. It is a relatively new product by McGuires and is available at Auto Zone and probbaly many other Auto Parts stores.

Basil

Thanks Basil. I definitely want it to glow like a glowy thing! I want to have to wear dark glasses around it. I'm making a list for hubby to take with him to Auto Zone tomorrow. Hehe, I wasn't so sure about this (recent) retirement thing of his, but I think he's going to be very busy this winter! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Like Basil said - NXT is a good choice and is fairly forgiving. Use the supplied foam applicator and a good, clean, 100% cotton terry towel to remove the product (don't skimp - go to a decent linen supply store and get a good bath-size towel that's very fluffy and 100% cotton).

I did a short review on NXT here awhile back Click here.

I couldn't find my BCF version of it, but click here for the Autopia.org version of my 'detailing the MGB' article. I just redid my MG for a show and essentially skipped everything straight for the NXT and it looks great.

Yes Sir. I think the hubby is going to be a busy man the next couple days. Hope he wasn't planning on doing any fishing! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

I have an MGB. He has a boat. That makes us both VERY happy. Except he can't fish any more, and I had The B out today! 60 degrees, in St. Louis, in December? Think it's time for me to figure out how to put that top up? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh to be in St.Louis.....60 degrees out? You could just remove the soft top altogether. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Ahh Steve. Did have the top up a couple weeks. Had some ugly cold weather last week, but is going to be pushing near 60 again here Wed-Sat. I took the B out today (needed a fix) and the top is coming down again tomorrow! These days are limited in the wintertime here!
