New Owner Chronicles Part 1: Interior Bits

I've got to say that I really don't like the trafficators. I've got two in boxes in my garage right now. My reasons are:

1 they don't look very nice
2. Operating the indicator involves strange positioning of the arms not conducive to safe driving
3. They stick.
4. If you want to change the wheel it's an overly complicated job.

Relocate the indicator to the dash and fit the brushed aluminum Moto Lita horn push. Much nicer look

RE: Scratching the hub, I know on the cars without the adjustable steering wheel it would just be a matter of loosening the olive nut at the end of the steering box and pulling the stator tube and attached steering control out a 1/8" or 1/4" of an inch to get clearance, if you have the adjustable steering wheel (for reach) I assume there is a similar adjustment, but it may be done under the dash, you should be able to pull the whol control head/stator tube assembly out from the hub slightly to fix your problem.

I agree about the control head being a PITA, the head itself is fairly sturdy, but you have to have it set up right to have it work right, I pulled mine half a dozen times before I got reliable blinkers and self cancelling. It is also easy to pinch the wires and get a short.
