New Orleans to El Paso, non-stop

My son and I have made the trip from New Orleans to El Paso, TX non-stop yesterday. Whew! My butt hurts, amongst other things. If I can rouse him from his bed here at the Holiday Inn (I wonder if I will be smarter now?), we will get on the road to Phoenix, a relatively short trip, to stay a night with his brother there. Then on Sunday to Palo Alto. Man, there ain't nothing in West Texas! Haven't spotted any LBCs yet, but there sure are a lot of low-riders out here.
And, the Mexican food is better in Louisiana than in West Texas.

HORSESQUEEZE!!!

Got in about thirty minutes ago from our latest road trip through Texas. Left yesterday afternoon at 5pm and drove round trip to Austin (Through Fayetville in Northwest Arkansas to pick up our oldest son who can't stand the thought of missing a car trip) My Dad is still trying to figure out why were having dinner last night in Oklahoma when we driving to Austin. LOL!
We picked up a 1986 MR2 for our young son and drove it back.
Whew! 1300 miles round trip in a little over 30 hours! This included the time we had to wait to have tires mounted on the "new" car once we picked it up. The "new" car made it all 650 miles without a hitch!
Saw a beautifully restored TR, several nice 280Z's and a convoy of Ford model T's!
Not much scenery in Texas though...just a lot of traffic!

Those little 'yoda MR2's are great! Such a blast to drive! All the sudden I have the urge to look for a new house with more garage space...

We now have:

1980 MGB in the garage being reassembled.
1976 Datsun 280Z being parted out.
1990 Toyota Supra Turbo- waiting for old son to graduate and come claim it.
1986 Alfa Romeo spider in the queue waiting on us to learn body work and paint.
1986 Toyota MR2 waiting on young son to get his permit and learn to drive it.
2005 Suburban which is our trip car.

Rather than selling the house, maybe we should get out to the garage and finish up some of the projects! -or-
build a "Garage Mahal" like Tony LOL!!!
