Probably a car that most of you have never seen or possibly heard of. I was at a very large cruise tonight (approx 700-800 cars) so you can expect the unexpected. What I saw was a 90 % restored Crosley Hotshot I say 90 % because it was obviously still a work in progress but beautifully done up to this point. Not a trailer queen but registered and insured in the fine state of Ct.

The reason I remembered it was because when I was a kid a local realtor had one and used it to advertise his business
 
Great little car! The British car mechanic in Putnam CT had one parked outside his shop on many days. What memories that brings!

Had a classmate in HS that had one. His was yellow though. I have a spare engine for it that I intended to put into a race car years ago. That thing is like a miniature Bugatti engine, block and head are a single casting and it has a single overhead cam driven by a vertical shaft.
 
There was a couple of them running around when I was in school, one was a hotshot and the other was a station wagon. :thumbsup2:
 
There used to be a liquor store nearby that had the shell of one for its business sign. The wheels were hooked up to an electric motor and turned when the sign was on.
 
There is/was a Crosley station wagon at a former cruize site on the way to Troy NY, right in Andy Mace territory
 
Very timely, I was browsing my sons web site (claffie.com) and he has a bunch of pictures taken at the National corvette Museum this summer. Way back in an obscure corner there is an actual Crosley Hotshot !
 
Used to be a fried chicken store in Stamford called Hoosier Chicken. (Who's Your Chicken?") They delivered in a Crosley Hotshot. One afternoon, the delivery boy took a corner too fast and flipped it. He was tossed out but unhurt. There were two series. The first used a copper-brazed engine (Cobra). They were bad; replaced by Cast-Iron engine (CIBA). Reliable enough to win their class at Sebring.
