Just bought this 60 inch cut and it's quite a mower. Built like a tank and is very fast, if you dare. Takes a little getting used to being very sensitive on the controls, and powerful, but it's a cool mower. PJ

No, your right, it's made in Arkansas. :encouragement: :applause: They have quite an operation and all American workers! The deck even raises and lowers hydraulically by push button. :thumbsup: PJ

I was kinda surprised when it was delivered as the invoice says it's weight is 850 lbs! PJ
 
At 850 lbs it's a good thing you can ride on it instead of having to push it.

27 hp 747 cc Kohler. You can get them with a little Cat diesel also.
It's so heavy because they use heavy gauge steel in the manufacturing of it. There is no stamped metal, all fabricated from plate steel. The square tubing is 1/4 inch thick. Like I said, built like a tank! :encouragement: PJ
 
It looks like a walker mower and priced similar. I wonder how it does on hills and semi rough pasture. My John Deere is getting old. I had to replace the transmission axle two years ago. The manufacturer in their wisdom did not provide a way to replace the hydraulic fluid in the axle so it gave out. I put in a faster axle and can mow in half the time now. But, still wearing the machine out.

More seriously, while I don't mow regularly with my JD X300, only used for leaf collection (my 21" Toro and I do just fine on 1/2 acre), I wanted a non-hydrostatic trans on mine but could not get one, I worry about this a bit.

It takes me about 3 hours to mow my property....it's good "mental floss" time....I don't mind it at all.

I do NOT trim, though. What does not get cut with the 6' deck is allowed to live another day.

Some plantings have been known to disappear when it becomes apparent that consideration of mowing was not brought in to the planting equation.
 
Tiger, We have a JD 54 inch mower with a hydrostatic transmission and 1700+ hrs on the clock, it still works perfect. I wouldn't worry to much about it. :encouragement:
