Just a word of praise to this site. I just joined today and checked out all the topics. I have owned MGs and remember when all LBCs were daily drivers. Nothing like a long trip across Kentucky in 6 inches of snow driving the MGB. Some drivers had snow tires on wire wheels! Great traction due to low center of gravity! I have been absent from the hobby for several years due to career demands and location. Presently I want to get down to the unheated outbuilding to begin work on the MGA which needs everything. Its 17F today with snow so no work today! Pictures to follw in a later posting. I plan on reading all entries to mentally get up to speed.

Welcome aboard buddy!! I agreewith you, there is nothing better than a 'B in the snow!! I drove one all around B.C. (and I mean all around) in the early 70's!! It was great!! Fix that MGA!!!!!

Welcome to the board, always nice to see more owners on the board. Good luck with the A hope that it comes together and that there is some decent weather or you soon (although considering that we're sweltering in 100+ degrees F down here at the moment I'd be inclined to swap with you.

Good to hear from you! I visit my father in Henderson Ky throughout the year. Flemingsburg is Approx 60 miles east of Lexington, KY. I can follow I-64 most of the way from Evansville to home.

you'll have to come cross the border next time you are in town. The local Brit show is Sept 13 if you can work in a trip

Indeed, I'm less than 40 minutes from there. For years I have wished a B could tow a San Juan 21 with no ill effects. Thank goodness for Lord Toyota's trucks. Its a great sailing lake with odd wind patterns due to the foothills. Have you visited there?

Sounds great! If all goes well I would like to see the iron from your area. The Cinncinnati show is usually a good one although for the past few years I have had other commitments. Maybe I can make a few this year.

Duff, I've been going to cave run lake for years,My dad lives year round up on a ridge, just to the left of the Zilpo campgrounds.(If you know where the Cassidy place is, its to the right of that). You have to go through Salt Lick, and then back into the DB national forest. The road back to dad's place is a great MG drive.I'm thinking of tying in a road trip with the Lexington show, if the v6 is ready. If your a true cave runner, you know what Zilpo stands for!

It is my fervent belief that Zilpo is the name of a small town flooded by the daming of Licking River. The drive would be a good challenge. I always enjoyed driving under a canopy of trees with the top down on some roads around there.
