The words were spoken "I am finished with working on cars" so I told my wife last summer,then I ran into this MGB. Need I say more.
Having spent my productive years with Chrysler Corporation, or DiamlerChrysler or FCA, It was time to retire.
Over the years of being a dedicated car nut, the most enjoyable of my toys have been Austin Healeys.
 
Welcome to BCF. I was a network manager for a large university. Retired and decided to stay far away from computer systems. Of course, now as a volunteer for New England Air Museum, everyone asks me computer questions!

When you get a chance, post some photos of your MGB. Those cars teach us patience, creativity, and new four letter words.

I just recently joined this forum also. I retired from Chrysler Powertrain Engineering at the end of 2001 after 36 years in Automatic Transmission engineering. Where did you work at Chrysler?

The west coast was my prowl, various zone offices and time at Motown. The marketing side was my calling, retired in 2001. I remember transmissions in the early 90's that had big issues. The word came down that tolerances were not attainable with current machining. Always wondered if that was true.
 
You are probably thinking of the A604 four speed transaxle, later renamed to UltraDrive. It was basically 6 pounds in a 5-pound bag, so yes there were some tight tolerances especially on some of the stamped parts. There were also some design issues, like a sealing ring that had to seal in both directions. Didn't always work. I was never involved with this transmission. I worked on RWD transmission for the Jeeps and trucks.
 
Yes,the A604 rings the bells,along with a few issues on the new Dodge trucks. THE BEST OF TIMES.
Having my fun now with a 74.5 mgb, and a crossfire 6 speed roadster....for the most part
